What’s the difference between a mattress topper and a mattress pad?

• Mattress pad: Thin layer that sits on top of the mattress, primarily for protection. Adds minimal comfort.
• Mattress topper: Thicker layer (2–4 inches) that significantly changes the feel of your mattress — softer or firmer depending on the fill.
• Featherbed: A thick, plush topper filled with down or feathers. Adds a cloud-like softness on top of your mattress.

• Memory foam toppers: Spot clean only — do not machine wash or submerge in water
• Wool toppers: Spot clean and air out regularly; professional cleaning recommended annually
